to run My Vision Express?
My Vision Express is a true
client-server application. We strongly recommend a Windows XP or XP
server, however, it can be run on Windows NT/2000. Since most of the processing takes place on
the Server machine it is highly recommended that it be a faster
processor (PIII 700 +) with plenty of memory (3+ GB)

What technology is My Vision Express based on?
My Vision Express is a True Client/Server application. It is written in
Sybase PowerBuilder which is considered the most advanced 4GL programming language in the world and is used widely by Fortune 100 companies seeking optimal performance and flexibility. For the database, My Vision Express uses
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 which is a robust and powerful SQL Database utilizing state of the art technology, allowing My Vision Express to be very fast and flexible

How do you handle Installation of My Vision Express? Can I do it myself?
Installing your My Vision Express software is also very simple and straight forward. If you have ever installed any software on your PC, you can install My Vision Express. Most semi-technical staff members can install even a My Vision Express networked system in less than an hour. We supply you with all the manuals and software, as well as phone and online support to help with any issues you may have.

How do you handle training of My Vision Express?
Because the My Vision Express interface is so intuitive and easy to use, many of our customers opt not to receive any training from our staff. That alone speaks for itself. However, we do offer hands on training if necessary, and as part of your support plan and software purchase, we also help you with training issues over the phone and via email. We do offer full-day training sessions on-site or remotely. For more details and pricing please refer to our

I have several computers in my office;
how many licenses do I have to purchase?
When you purchase My Vision Express Network edition you get a license for use of the software on the server and an unlimited number of workstations. (Within the same location)

How can we connect our other offices?
Using
Microsoft's Terminal Services
technology, you can give split-second, Web-Based access to virtually anyone located anywhere. Whether you are connecting various regional offices to your central system or dialing in from home, Terminal Services allows you Web Based access over as little as a 56k dial-up phone line with superior performance and security.

How quickly can I be up and running?
You can be up and running in as little as 24 hours! Unlike other companies who require you to come to their office for as much as a week of training just so you know how to use the software, My Vision Express is completely user friendly and does not require on site training, so you can be entering inventory and orders in less than an hour after receiving the software!

Are there any hidden charges associated with My Vision Express?
There are NO hidden charges. My Vision Express is
a complete and comprehensive eye care business management and point of purchase software.
The license does not expire and the software does not stop working if you
only purchase software license. The
license purchase does not include
Maintenance and Support plan, training and data conversion, which we offer at an additional cost.
My Vision Express Maintenance and Support Plan is OPTIONAL and it provides:

9.
How long will the program work and what are the recurring costs involved?
My Vision Express does NOT stop working if you do not purchase or renew the OPTIONAL Annual Maintenance and Support Plan. We provide at least 5 updates throughout the year and they are available
ONLY to customers under this plan.
10.
How do I get upgrades?
Upgrades are released as product features are improved. If you are subscribed to the support plan, you will receive an e-mail to let you know that a new upgrade is available. This can be either downloaded from our website or mailed out to you.
11.
Can I purchase upgrades individually?
No. We do not sale the upgrades individually. They come as part of your Annual Maintenance and Support Plan.
12.
Can I still subscribe to the Annual Maintenance and Support Plan If I did not purchase it originally or discontinued it?
There is a $1000 reinstatement fee if you did not purchase or discontinued your Annual Maintenance and Support Plan and wish to later renew within one-year of support expiration or one-year of purchase.
If the Annual Maintenance and Support Plan expired for more than a year and wish to later renew, the price for the reinstatement is the current software price.
If you currently do not subscribe to the support plan and wish to get one-time support it is subject to then current prices. If a client is within 12-months of their support expiration a $125 per hour fee, with a two-hour minimum will be applied. If a client is more than 12-months behind on their maintenance agreement a $200 per hour fee, with a two-hour minimum will be assessed.
13.
What about Maintenance of My Vision Express?
Maintenance of your system is also very simple. No Database Administrators are required. The Microsoft SQL Server 2005, which contains all your vital practice information, requires virtually no ongoing maintenance. Regular backups are necessary and a system automatically reminds you to perform backup if it has been over a week since your last backup.
14.
If I'm switching from an older system, can I transfer my patient's information?
Most likely yes; we offer data conversion service for an additional fee. Converting data from one system to another is tedious and time consuming task. Insight Software has specialists that have worked with many different practice management systems, with various types of databases. The amount of data we are able to convert depends on the system you are transferring data from and how similar the systems are to one another. Our data transfer team has successfully transferred data from DOS systems of the past to current windows systems of today. Please

Can I submit Insurance Claims Electronically?
My Vision Express generates print image of CMS-1500 forms that most clearinghouses will accept for electronic submission. You can submit your claims through any clearing house of your choice; however, My Vision Express has partnered with
Gateway EDI to provide electronic insurance claim submission without leaving the application. Gateway EDI enables you to quickly transmit claims to over 1,000 insurance carriers, managed care companies, and governmental payers. Click here for more information on our

16.
Is My Vision Express compatible with Barcode Scanners/Readers?
All barcode reader (BCR) are compatible with the software. A BCR is another way to get the data into the software. Instead of typing in the keyboard it writes the numbers by scanning the product UPC.
To automatically populate the information from inventory, click into the UPC field, scan the product and then press the Tab key. Inventory item with that UPC must exist in order for it get the information.
