Insurance Companies

The Insurance screen allows users to enter the contact and insurance submission information of the insurance companies accepted by the practice. The insurance companies entered here will be displayed in Insurance Company drop-down lists in various sections of the application.

 

To modify insurance companies:

Select File > Setup > Insurance to open the Insurance screen.

To add an insurance company, click Add and enter the insurance company’s information in the corresponding text fields in the Insurance Details section

If you want the insurance company to appear in the various insurance company listings throughout the application, make sure the Active checkbox is checked. If you want the insurance company to appear in the Insurance drop-down list in the Order screens, check Available in Orders. For more information, refer Detailed Orders Use and Quick Order Use sections.

Select the corresponding Insurance type from the drop-down list in the HCFA / CMS 1500 section.

 

To add an Insurance Plan to a corresponding insurance company, click to highlight the company and click Plans. For more information, refer to the Insurance Plans Setup section.

Click the Save and Close icons on the toolbar after you’re done making changes to this screen. You may be prompted to restart the application before the changes take effect.

If you have the Eyefinity Interface and would like to import insurance information from valid Eyefinity payers, make sure your list of valid Eyefinity insurers is up-to-date. Select File > Setup > Company Information from the menu bar and click the VSP Tab.  Click Refresh Other Lists to open the VSP Download Lists screen and click Request Insurance Carrier List. My Vision express will prompt you when it is finished downloading the current insurance carrier list. For more information, refer to the Company Information Setup section.  

To import from Eyefinity:

Select File > Setup > Insurance to open the Insurance screen.

click Add and enter the insurance company’s information in the corresponding text fields in the Insurance Details section.

If you have the Eyefinity Interface and would like to import insurance information from valid Eyefinity payers, click Import from Eyefinity… to open the Eyefinity Insurance Carriers screen. 

Click to highlight the insurance company you want to import and click Import.  The imported information will include the insurance company’s Name and Payer ID.

NOTE: Before clicking Import from Eyefinity…, make sure you have click Add on the Insurance screen and create a new record first. If a different insurance company is highlighted while you are importing an insurance company from Eyefinity, it will overwrite that record.

To filter Eyefinity insurance carriers, click Filter… to open the Filter condition screen and fill in the Payer ID and/or Name fields or Type and/or Status drop-down lists.

When you’re finished, click OK to apply the filter. If you do not want to apply the filter, click Cancel to return to the Eyefinity Insurance Carriers screen. To remove a filter, click Clear filter to clear all fields.
