The Frame Markup screen is used to specify the frames retail price calculation formula. When entering frame inventory manually you must specify the group cost and leave the retail price blank if you want the Frame Markup Formula to be applied. The retail price will be calculated when the frame is added to an order. If you are importing frames from the SPEX UPC CD the cost and group cost fields get imported into My Vision Express if no retail price is specified then the frame markup formula will be applied. For more information on importing from SPEX UPC CD is topic on Transactions: Importing Frame Data from SPEX UPC CD. The retail price calculation formula is based on the Start and End Cost price of the frame. When specifying cost price ranges make sure all specified cost fit within one of the formulas. You can also specify an amount you’d like to be added to the retail price. For example if after the multiplier is applied then that amount will be added.
• How the formula works:
Group Cost (previously setup under the frame inventory) * Multiplier + Amount = Subtotal
This subtotal amount will round up or down depending on which you select from the Ceiling drop-down list. On the Ends With Field you can enter the amount in which you’d like the price to end up with. So for example if you’d like all of your frames to end up with .99 or .95 simply enter that number in this Ends With Field.
