How to transfer insurance balance to patients

 

Q: How should I transfer balances from insurance to patient?

A: Follow these steps:

1.  Make sure that you have an inventory item under “Other Inventory” named "Transfer from Insurance to Patient".  This item should not be inventoried and does not need a retail price.  

2.  Open up the order you wish to do an adjustment on.

3.  Go to the invoice tab, click the Add Button and  add the "Transfer from Insurance to Patient" item.

4.  Double-click the item and in the Items details screen put the NEGATIVE amount of the adjustment in the

5.  Insurance Field.

6.  Click Ok.  This should correctly reflect the transactions on your receipts.  Preview the receipt in the payments  tab and assure it is to your liking.
