Setting up Marketing Details allows you to link the Marketing Coupons you specified in the Marketing Screen with the items that you sell. If you need to enter Marketing Coupon information, refer to the topic on Marketing for more details. Examples will be provider at the conclusion of this section to illustrate how marketing details link a marketing coupon to an inventory item.
• To create Marketing Details:
1. Follow the menu item sequence … File | Setup | Marketing Details.
2. In the Marketing Detail Screen highlight the appropriate Marketing Coupon then click the Add Button located next to the Marketing Items Section of the screen.
3. Select the appropriate item type from the Item Type drop-down list.
4. Enter the corresponding information.
5. If you would like to add more Marketing Details go to step 2, otherwise click Save then Close from the menu toolbar.
Examples:
1. Frames: If a coupon for 50% off Frames existed then you highlight that coupon under the marketing section and select Frames as the item type. If there were any restrictions on the discount that the Frame should belong to a specific manufacturer then select the manufacturer from the list else leave it blank. You can also specify the maximum price of the frame on which discount will be calculated, if there are no restrictions on price leave it blank. For example, if the discount of 50% off frames was limited to all frames of $300 and under then if the frame being sold is for $500 then the discount calculated will be 0, if there were no restriction on price it would be 500 x .50 = 250, total due would be $250. Specify the minimum quantity the customer needs to purchase in order to get the discount.
2. Contact lens: If the marketing discount applies to Contact lens select contact lens under item type. Specify the Manufacturer and lens name to which the discount applies. Specify the minimum quantity the customer needs to purchase in order to get the discount.
3. Spectacle lens: If the marketing discount applies to Spectacle lens select spectacle lens under item type. Specify the Style to which the discount applies. Specify the minimum quantity the customer needs to purchase in order to get the discount.
4. Other: If the marketing discount applies to miscellaneous items like tint, coatings, case etc. select Other under item type. Specify the Category to which the discount applies. If the discount applies only to a specific item like grey tint then specify the name, else leave the Name list box blank. Specify the minimum quantity the customer needs to purchase in order to get the discount.
